What they say:
- UK Muzik Magazine`s Ralph Moore: "cerebral"
- Will Saul (Simple Records - 2004) on MYM presents "I Wana Be Hindu Cow" (breaks mix): 'Dave Twomey is a leading light on the Japanese club scene and this mix shows why. Deep and rolling with enough punch to rock a main room slot. Quality'
- James Zabiela (Excession / Renaissance) on 'Hindu Cow': "I really like it. Mad Breaks..."
- Hernan Cattaneo (Perfecto / Renaissance) on Robotech: "This mix is great!!"
Mini-profile:
Former winner of Muzik`s prestigious Bedroom Bedlam award (UK) & recently 11th Best DJ in Tokyo, Dave's unique style of sometimes minimal, sometimes electro, sometimes just downright filthy house & harder has over the last 6 years or so become nothing short of dancefloor rocket fuel for clubbers the world over. China, Australia, Singapore, Indonesia, Korea, Germany, Austria, Mauritius & of course the UK just some of the placed he has rocked to the core since picking up his headphones for the first time. And he's come a long since those balmy (just pissing down rainy really) Bristol days...
Based in Japan now, the 25 year old Brit expat is currently resident DJ for techno heavyweight CrossMountainNights @ Womb & at the `Lost in Translation'-featured Daikanyama club Air for Global Underground Tokyo where he notoriously loves to twist the shit out of the usual music policy. Dave also heads up his own MYM show on the ever-growing internet radio station Samurai.FM. Having stepped down from his very well-received 2 year long residency for Spice! at the legendary Space Lab Yellow in Nishi Azabu warming up what he considers the best club in Tokyo for the likes of Slam & Hernan Cattaneo, the latter one of Dave's biggest fans, today he is one of the busiest DJs on the Tokyo circuit. He has appeared at the world famous Womb for the world renowned Renaissance on a number of occasions on the same bill as luminaries such as Nick Warren,
Layo & Bushwacka & James Zabiela and where he has recently been asked to be a regular. He has also played the colossal 4000 cap Ageha a number of times for Ministry of Sound & Dimension K, plus continues to play his favourite more underground parties out & about in Tokyo of course. Added to a tour of Argentina in the spring, Europe in the summer plus more visits to China & Korea ... definitely a dance music-loving westerner making some deft moves out East.
